STATEMENT

Through my photography, I attempt to visualize the feelings of loneliness and alienation that people experience in life.

Born and raised in Osaka, I later moved to Tokyo. Influenced by my late grandfather and an old friend who were both photography enthusiasts, I chose photography as my means of expression. My work is also shaped by my early exposure to Surrealist paintings in art textbooks, Japanese manga, and my long-time study of calligraphy.

As I navigate the sense of being an anonymous individual lost in the vastness of the city, I seek connections with others through social media. My work aims to capture the solitude and alienation lurking within the impersonal urban landscape, bringing to light the invisible emotions of those who inhabit it through the interplay of light and shadow.
