STATEMENT

I am interested in the delicate boundary between what is visible and what is felt.

My photographs aim to suggest human presence through subtle traces and the quiet spaces that emerge in their absence.

I was born in Osaka and currently live and work in Tokyo. My introduction to photography came through the influence of my grandfather and a close friend.
My visual sensibility has been shaped by various sources, including the surrealist paintings I encountered in school art textbooks, Japanese manga, and many years of practicing calligraphy, which instilled in me an intuitive understanding of rhythm, silence, and empty space.

What I pursue through photography is not documentation, but extraction.
I am less concerned with what is plainly seen, and more with what floats just beneath perception—the emotional residue of daily life, and the atmosphere of spaces subtly altered by someone’s brief presence.

From the visible to the felt—my work inhabits the quiet space between the two.
